How to Upscale an Image with AI

Before you upscale

Kivrum accepts PNG, JPEG, and WEBP files up to 15 MB. It checks the file signature and declared type before processing. The requested dimensions are shown before you start, with a warning for outputs above 40 million pixels.

Upscale an image step by step

AI upscaling is provider-backed, so the image leaves your browser for processing.

   Choose an image

   Drop a supported file into the upload area or browse for it.

   Select the scale

   Choose a requested enlargement of 2× or 4× and review the expected dimensions.

   Enhance the image

   Start the process and keep the page open while Kivrum uploads the file and waits for the provider.

   Inspect the result

   Switch between Original, Upscaled, and Before / After views. Zoom or move the comparison divider.

   Download a format

   Export PNG, JPG, or WEBP. JPG fills transparent areas with white.

Understanding the output

The result panel shows original dimensions, actual output dimensions, requested scale, format, and encoded size. If the provider returns unexpected dimensions, Kivrum displays a warning rather than hiding the mismatch. Session history keeps up to ten results in the open page.

Privacy and processing

This tool is not local-only. The selected image is sent through Kivrum's API to a configured AI provider for processing. Do not upload sensitive images unless you are comfortable with provider-backed processing.

Common errors

A file may be rejected when it exceeds 15 MB, has an unsupported format, is corrupted, or does not match its declared type. Network interruptions and provider availability can also stop processing; retry after checking the connection.
